I cannot believe how quickly the summer has passed! 3 weeks and I'll be back down south studying ferociously once more-- though I am rather excited for the desert landscape... new shooting location? Definitely! Not last week, but the week prior, I had three shoots in a row... definitely no mean feat since they were literally one day after another: get up early, shoot all day, edit photos all night, get up early... Of course, by the end I was exhausted but I definitely could get used to it! Exhausting, invigorating, and I learned so much just by doing! I won't post all the photos on dA, but you can stalk them/me on my Flickr: http://www.flick

Happy Summer everyone! I've been working lately on imperfection in my photography. I'd noticed that a lot of my photography (especially portraits) had begun to seem almost too perfect and balanced. I've cut a lot on retouching and leave my subjects essentially as they are (on the whole) now, and the majority of effects (beyond color changes and such) are done in-camera, and I'm definitely liking the results. I'm really trying to capture the spirit of my subject and focus less on the look of the picture itself... I hope it's working! I really want to know what you all think though, since feedback is the most valuable thing an artist can get.

So, I just finished my first year at CalArts! Yay! I have survived! Ha ha. But really, it was pretty amazing-- I worked myself into the ground and learned so much! There were ups and downs, which was to be expected, but the biggest up (apart from all the great people that I met) was a class I took on computer programming (for artists/animators). Let's just say that I love interactivity! I had a class gallery opening the last week of school, and it was really great to see people interact with my piece (Painting with Sound) and the greatest part was talking with people after and during and getting their feedback. Basically, I love the install

#$%*$)* Adddddiiii. I am SO pissed. I wrote out a chunky 5+ paragraph critique for "Perch" and devArt ate the damn thing. -_-
Oh no!! That's terrible! Thank you so much though :) We can discuss via telephone/in-person!
